Panjabi School

Panjabi School and Panjabi language classes are held by Sri Guru Kalgidhar Gurdwara, at City of Doncaster.

We believe it’s crucial for Sikh kids born in the West to learn their mother tongue, Punjabi. Punjabi is the language of the Sikh religion. By learning Punjabi, kids can understand Sikh culture, spiritual heritage, and connect with Punjab, the birthplace of Sikhism.

It’s especially important because the Guru Granth Sahib Ji is written in Gurmukhi. To fully participate in worship of the Guru Granth Sahib Ji in Sangat, Sikhs and their children need to learn Gurmukhi and understand Punjabi.

At the Gurdwara saheb, we provide Punjabi lessons suitable for all ages and proficiency levels, ranging from beginners to advanced learners. Our approach goes beyond just teaching the language – we integrate cultural aspects into the lessons to make the learning experience enjoyable and enriching.

We do get regular school visit from other communities.
